Australia’s newest magazine, Five Star Kids Travel + Lifestyle, has just arrived on newsagent racks as the world’s first publication devoted entirely to the needs of affluent, luxury-loving families.
Published by Signature Media, the glossy new magazine features stories for families seeking high-end travel options as well as the best education and lifestyle choices for their children.
The launch issue includes travel articles on specialist kids’ concierges, private islands, family jets and horseback safaris in Africa.
“Once upon a time hoteliers would shudder with horror at the thought of sticky-fingered kids wandering into their pristine white-marbled lobbies but times have changed,” said Five Star Kids Executive Editor, Hilary Doling. “But today, instead of being just tolerated in luxury resorts and hotels, children are encouraged and welcomed with open arms,” Ms Doling added.
“Mounting interest from readers of our other travel publications for information on luxury travel inspired the creation of Five Star Kids. So many readers asked us for recommendations on live-it-up, family-friendly holidays that we decided to produce a magazine devoted just to this topic.”
Signature Media Director, Cathy Wagstaff, said Five Star Kids caters to an AB demographic often overlooked in the family holiday market.
“There’s been a lot of attention on budget holidays and discounted deals for families but major travel agencies have reported to us a significant growth in high-end luxury travel for well-to-do families which is why we decided to serve this often neglected niche market through this exciting new publication,” Ms Wagstaff said.
As well as travel inspiration, the new magazine also highlights the best in kids’ designer fashion and some ideas for creating some amazing kids’ birthday parties. It also takes a look at some innovative childcare centres and what our best private schools are doing to teach children to be citizens of the world.
