The Kings Speech wins Best Picture, Best Actor

Los Angeles – “The King’s Speech” has garnered the Oscar for Best Picture at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards ceremony held at Kodak Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Colin Firth, who played the English King George VI, also won the Oscar for Best Actor.
Firth, 50, was the odds-on favourite to pick up his first Oscar. He was competing against Jesse Eisenberg for “The Social Network,” Oscar co-host James Franco for “127 Hours,” Jeff Bridges for “True Grit” and Javier Bardem for “Biutiful.” [Read more...]
