Gardenex Groups At Germany And Japan Shows
The Gardenex export federation is giving British garden and leisure product companies two more opportunities to expand their export businesses by exhibiting in two major international garden and trade shows to be held in Germany and Japan. The shows, Spoga Gafa in Cologne and Gardex/Ifex/Extepo in Tokyo, are major events in the federation’s export-boosting calendar and are expected to attract over 70,000 garden product buyers from around the world. Many British firms have expanded their export portfolios as a direct result of exhibiting in Gardenex-organised groups at these shows in previous years and many will be making return visits in 2010. They will be exhibiting alongside other UK companies that are new to exporting.
Spoga Gafa, to be held in Cologne from 5th to 7th of September 2010, attracts a large German audience but is also recognised as the main event for leading buyers from throughout Europe. Germany has a garden product market estimated to be worth €14.9 billion and is one of the top two markets for exports of garden products from the UK. Testimony to the exhibition’s worldwide success is that British exhibitors at last year’s event attracted buyers from Canada, Australasia, Egypt and from throughout Europe.
The garden and exterior markets in Japan are also sizeable and estimated to be worth in excess of US$9 billion. Gardenex is offering British firms the opportunity of reaching this market by organising a British pavilion at the Gardex/Ifex/Extepo trade show to be held from 28th to 30th October 2010. The show attracts a broad spectrum of buyers ranging from garden centres and landscape companies to department stores and mail order companies.
Gardenex has secured government grants for British exhibitors at both shows and this will be enhanced by the federation’s comprehensive package of organisational support that simplifies the whole process of exhibiting for companies in the group.
The number of places funded by UKTI is capped and time is running out to secure a place at Spoga Gafa as the deadline date for space applications is imminent. Interested companies should contact Theresa Swann or Emma Lewis on 01959 565995.
Gardenex, The Federation of Garden and Leisure Manufacturers Ltd, is the trade association that works on behalf of British companies to help its members increase sales worldwide.
