Energy management company short-listed for top award
Specialist energy management company RUMM, has been shortlisted for the ‘Technology’ category in the Insider Made in Wales Awards 2014.
The finals take place on October 23, at the Mercure Holland House Hotel, and speakers include Dr Lyn Evans, project leader at CERN.
RUMM - remote utility monitoring and management - based at Tredomen Gateway in Ystrad Mynach, is a spin-out company from the University of Glamorgan, formed in 2005.
The company works with customers across the industrial and commercial sectors to make significant savings in energy costs and carbon.
To date, RUMM has worked with major companies throughout the UK, including Amtico, Zodiac Group, Welsh Water, the Celtic Manor Resort, Cardiff Metropolitan University, TATA Steel, and recently signed a multi-million pound deal in the USA.
RUMM chairman and co-founder, Dr Steve Lloyd, has been involved in energy management since 1984.
He says,
“Being short-listed for this award is a tremendous endorsement of the work we have been carrying out, in particular for the energy saving technologies we have developed, and the innovations the company continues to make.”
