MOON DOG – a new stand-up show by Kate Roxburgh
Armed with a surreal sense of reality, a degree in astrophysics and a
banjo, Kate might be dangerous if she were an inch or two taller. As it
is, she’s returning to Edinburgh with Schrödinger’s Cat and the European
premiere of her solo outing: Moon Dog. Don’t forget to ask her what a
moon dog is…
“Very, very funny” – Jim Sweeney, The Comedy Store Players, London
“
Four stars: … hilarious… expect sci-fi and the plastic world of LA.
This was really rocking, simple good old fashioned stand-up” –
ThreeWeeks, for Kate’s last Edinburgh appearance in 2008
Born in
London, Kate’s been working in southern California for 12 years as an
actor, filmmaker, writer and stand-up comedian of note. Selected by
Mitzi Shore to perform regular gigs at the Hollywood Comedy Store,
Kate’s also a regular feature of the iconic Icehouse in Pasadena (where
she produces a monthly show), The Hollywood Improv, and of smaller, just
as groovy, venues around Los Angeles.
She’s also a member of Tim
Robbins’ elite Actor’s Gang, and has appeared on stage in several
productions with the LA Women’s Shakespeare Company, most notably as
Macbeth – which appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe after a run at London’s
Warehouse. As a comedian and actor in Los Angeles, Kate has covered
lots of artistic ground brilliantly, with wonderful reviews by both the
media and her peers. She’s now returning to the UK for good, accompanied
by her feisty charm and ravenous wolf-dog.
