Chambers Unite In Call For Passing Bill

The Chambers of Ennis, Galway, Limerick and Shannon, which represent 1,355 members with a combined employment level of 45,700,  have today (Friday, 21 March 2014) called on the Government to prioritise the passing of the Shannon Aviation Services and Miscellaneous Provisions Bill 2013 to facilitate the incorporation of the new Shannon Group plc and the associated amalgamation of Shannon Development into the new entity. FTA representatives in the north and south of Ireland have welcomed the announcement by Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport, Leo Varadkar and Minister of State for Tourism & Sport, Michael Ring that Hugo MacNeill, ex-Ireland rugby international, has agreed to chair the working group established to examine the potential of a Rugby World Cup bid by Ireland. Attracting such a high profile international event would provide a welcome opportunity to stimulate Ireland’s economy, and the necessary infrastructure is already in place to make it a highly successful event.
