The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) Ireland Region Committee, in association with the BIFM Conference, today launched a new annual award to recognise an organisation that has made a valuable and outstanding contribution to the Facilities and Property Management Industry within Ireland. The recipient will be revealed at the 15th annual BIFM conference and exhibition sponsored by H&J Martin Facilities Management and ARAMARK Workplace Solutions which will take place at Belfast Waterfront on Friday 4th November 2011.

The Award seeks to recognise and reward organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to the industry within Ireland over the past 12 months and are advocates of Facilities and Property Management as a service and or profession. Entries are welcomed from any organisation (public, private or voluntary) involved in the management off or provision of services to property and workplace facilities within Ireland and have contributed to workplace services within the industry such as construction, catering, security, cleaning, maintenance, IT or Health & Safety.

Wilton Farrelly, Division Director, H & J Martin Facilities Management commented: “Facilities Management is one of the fastest growing professions in the UK and facilities managers are responsible for many of the buildings and services, which support businesses and other types of organisations. The work of these hardworking professionals is vital for the smooth running of many different types of organisations and we are delighted that this new Outstanding Contribution Award has been launched to acknowledge local excellence in the industry.” Danny McAuley, ARAMARK and Chairman of the BIFM Ireland Region Committee commented: “Facilities management is a vital strategic discipline because it translates and facilitates the high-level, strategic change required by senior decision makers into day- to-day reality for people in their work or living space. We look forward to presenting this new Award to one of the many organisations which have made an invaluable contribution to the industry in the past year.” The Deadline for entries is Friday 30th September 2011.
