Bastille Make Glastonbury History

Bastille

London band Bastille were blown away by the number of people that turned out to see them play at Glastonbury. Officials confirmed that it was the largest crowd they had ever seen at the John Peel stage.

At one point security guards feared they may have to stop the show for health and safety reasons as the tent began to move as fans pushed against the tent support polls to catch a glimpse. Much of the band’s set was aired on BBC Three on Friday night and can still be viewed on i-player.

The band continue their reign as one the most exciting live bands around and play many of this summer’s festivals as well as sold out shows in the U.S, Europe and Japan. In fact the band are about to announce their second headline U.S tour having yet to visit the States to play their first sold out headline tour.

Bastille’s debut album is the biggest selling debut album of 2013 clocking up over 250,000 sales in a few months. Single ‘Pompeii’ is one of the biggest selling singles of the year and is fast approaching platinum sales (600,000).

The band’s autumn tour sold out in a matter of hours, all 44,000 tickets gone in a day.
