Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Month - April

21 year old Aron Smith from Rathfarnham has been selected as the Dunlop Young Racing Driver of the Month for April. The young Dubliner’s performances during the month, which included two wins at Thruxton, combined with an earlier third place, leave him in third position in the highly competitive Renault Clio Cup UK series.

Aron began his Motorsport career in Kart Racing at the age of 14. Since then, he has progressed through the ranks, winning both the Winter Cup and the Irish Open Kart Championship in 2006. Two years ago, he finished fourth in the Clio UK series and last year, he tackled the Italian Clio Championship, winning races on two famous Formula 1 circuits, Monza and Imola, as well as taking a second place at Monza. Established by Aoife Porter in 2009 and located in IT Sligo’s Innovation Centre, Bua Marketing is an innovative and dynamic marketing agency which delivers online marketing services to a wide variety of customers including IT Sligo, the Western Development Commission, Good4U Healthfoods and others.

As a result of Bua Marketing’s support, two of these clients; IT Sligo and the Western Development Commission, have also been shortlisted in the Social Media Awards 2011.

Abu Dhabi arrived in Ireland last weekend for the Curragh’s eagerly anticipated Abu Dhabi Irish Guineas Festival meeting. Literally.

Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), created a centrepiece tented Arabian Village to show off some of the emirate’s cultural traditions, including falconry, henna design and calligraphy. [Read more…]

This innovative fundraiser was the brainchild of Sligo woman Máire Garvey, who came up with the idea of a small sponsored all-female skinny dip, in 2009, in order to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society.
