Blanco Nino for Ireland

blanco nino

Blanco Niño is building Europe’s first real corn tortilla factory in Ireland, and they’re partnering with great Irish farmers to do so.

They plan to have over 600 acres of farm land growing high quality non GMO corn maize for their products by year 5, giving a much needed boost to the Irish farming sector, in additional tocreating 30 jobs at their production facility in Fingal in north county Dublin.

Blanco Niño will be exporting to the UK on a day one basis with the intention of serving the whole European marketing within the first 10 years.

The Blanco Niño project is the brain child of Dublin born Philip Martin, who has spent the last 2 years studying the ancient Aztec and Mayan cooking process of Nixtamalisation, and has traveledto the maize farms, mills and tortilla factories of Mexico to do so.

To fund the Blanco Niño project Philip is launching an equity crowd funding campaign in the coming days, which be the first of its kind in Ireland and will allow the general public to invest and take part in this the promising new enterprise.

Blanco Niño has also committed to investing 10% of annual profits into developing sustainablefarming in central and south America, as part of the company’s mission to be a force for positivechange towards long term sustainability both locally and internationally.
