Ceramics in the City 2013 A selling fair featuring 50 potters
Part of London Design Festival 2013
The Geffrye’s annual celebration of ceramics returns to the museum this September. Featuring around 50 ceramicists from across the UK, the event showcases the work of both leading names and rising talents.
Thursday 19 September, 6 – 8.30pm (Launch open evening)
Friday 20 – Sunday 22 September 10am – 5pm
Admission Free
An exciting array of work will be on sale, from classic tableware, lighting and other domestic objects to purely decorative and quirky one-off pieces, illustrating a wide variety of techniques, styles, textures and colour. Delicate porcelain will be shown alongside earthy stoneware, cool white glazes will provide contrast to colourful painted vessels, and lighting will brighten the display. Prices start from £10 for small objects, rising to several hundred pounds for large-scale work.
A special launch open evening will take place on Thursday 19 September from 6 – 8.30pm. Throughout the show, visitors will be able to browse and buy, meet the makers and watch free demonstrations. There will be ceramics-inspired creative workshops for children and families during the weekend (see below for event details).
