Once again, the year has passed with such speed that it is hard to believe that we are heading towards the Christmas festivities. 2011 has been full of changes and new beginnings, both professionally and personally. For the past 10 years Hotelzon has provided a state of the art Online Booking Tool to both corporate and agency customers, with multiple functional updates each year to accommodate our customers and the industry’s needs. The Hotelzon OBT (Online Booking Tool) is a specialist site for hotels which has multiple payment methods, configurable travel policy for both rates and hotels and an in-depth, real time reporting tool.
In a hotel, a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom are and have always been the two most important things for the frequent business traveler. Since the mid nineties there has been a third must – efficient and hazzle-free connectivity to the internet and company VPNs. Business travelers expect the same level of connectivity in a hotel room as they are used to at home or at the office.
I don’t want to be a tattler but I am. I spoke with a Sales Director for a global retailer recently and wanted to express my concern regarding his behavior to their Travel Manager. He told me that yet they have a travel policy to ensure consolidated traveling, he and his team always just calls directly to the hotels. When demonstrating or showing off the Hotelzon booking tool, I’m often asked “does it show savings?” This is normally followed with the same response each time from me “what do you mean?"
Not because I didn’t understand the question, but because there are multiple interpretations on what is classed or used as a saving. Ultimately the answer is yes – we not only make you savings but we show them to you as well in our booking system.
